The Braille Glove was thought of when Mr. Ryan Patterson saw a deaf woman trying to order food at Burger King. Invented in 2002 the braille glove was an award winning invention. It won top prize at the Siemens Westinghouse and Technology Competition. The device got Patterson a full-ride Boettcher Foundation scholarship. The device is basically a leather glove that translates sign language into words. Before the braille glove people had to use sign language. This made people more independent because deaf or nonspeaking people don't need to have a translator follow them around. Ryan Patterson invented it in 2002. It was made to make deaf or nonspeaking people more independent. Ryan invented it when he was 18 years old. The braille glove is a very great invention
